The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training and internal pay comparison. Boston University seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Staffing Specialist to support the attraction and hiring of top talent across the University. This role plays a key part in delivering a high-quality, consistent candidate experience while ensuring recruitment processes are executed with accuracy, efficiency, and integrity.
The Staffing Specialist partners closely with hiring managers and Talent Operations to support key stages of the hiring process. Responsibilities include candidate screening, coordinating and advancing candidates through the process, supporting hiring decisions, facilitating offer development, and initiating onboarding activities. This role also monitors recruitment activity across assigned departments to ensure timely progression, adherence to established processes, and clear communication throughout.
Working collaboratively across Talent Recruitment Services, this role contributes to the continuous improvement of recruitment operations, strengthening hiring practices, enhancing the candidate experience, and supporting the University's commitment to building a diverse and high-performing workforce. Required Skills 3-5 years of professional experience in recruitment, staffing, or related HR functions, with at least 1-2 years supporting hiring processes. A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience is required.
- Ability to build and maintain strong, professional relationships with hiring managers and candidates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using applicant tracking systems and other recruiting or candidate management tools
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and advancing high-quality candidates through the hiring process
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment
- Working knowledge of HR processes, systems, and employment law compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent applications
